OCEAN CITY, NJ (January 23, 2020) – Mrs. Baldini was chosen to receive a 2019 Hess Toy Truck STEM Kit! The kit includes 12 Hess Trucks that come with a complimentary curriculum to optimize the integration of the trucks with a STEM curriculum. STEM encompasses four main concepts; science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Committed to helping prepare students for the jobs of tomorrow, Hess STEM engages them in practical experiences that demonstrate how these concepts apply in the real world. The Hess Toy Truck STEM Curriculum includes 7 different activities for students to utilize with the trucks in their kit. These activities help students practice a variety of STEM skills. The exercises will allow students to learn about complex concepts through hands-on activities. For example, students will learn about friction by investigating how tire friction of the tow truck is essential for pulling out vehicles in a rut and will learn about solving equations by measuring and estimating the load their tow trucks can safely lift using an equation to determine the force capability of a lever. The activities in the STEM Curriculum Kit are designed for intermediate school students with the ability to be adapted to suit other grade levels. The Hess Trucks and the Curriculum will be able to be used by future students for years to come!
