OCSD Celebrates International SEL Day By Implementing Awareness Campaign

OCEAN CITY, NJ (March 19, 2021) – The Ocean City School District is celebrating International Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Day starting March 22nd with daily readings on topics that may help drive awareness to the importance of SEL. The theme for the second annual International SEL Day is Building Bonds, Reimagining Community.

International SEL Day takes place on March 26th. Each morning leading up to the date, OCSD student representatives or a member of the Wellness Team will read a poem, quote or fable during the morning announcements that may help raise awareness or help students draw a connection to SEL. Each school has organized classroom activities as well as developed  informative posters that will be featured around the buildings.

The Ocean City School District has and continues to provide social emotional learning resources to support student mental health, build positive social interactions, promote equity and access as well as embracing diverse students and families.

School updates will be posted via SwiftK-12 messaging, social media, as well as the OCSD website. The current Hybrid Plan, Return to In-School Instruction Plans and additional COVID-Prevention guidelines can be found on the district website, oceancityschools.org
